safety

    1. Warm up for at least 15 minutes before walking on the wall!

    2. Be aware of your surroundings. Is anyone climbing close by? Does my landing zone look safe? Is there anything in the way?

    3. Ask yourself: How can I risk falling on this route? How will I land if I jump off? Prepare yourself mentally for any sudden situations that may arise.

    4. If you feel unsafe, find another route to climb, there's plenty to do :)

    5. If you have any questions, please ask at the bar. We always want to talk to you!

Practicality

  • Bouldering is a type of climbing where you don't use ropes and harnesses. The only equipment you need is climbing shoes. Because we don't use harnesses, we only climb up to 4-5m and there are special fall mats under all the walls.

Bouldering is special because it's a particularly creative form of climbing, both in terms of figuring out how to climb a route, but also the moves you need to use to get to the top. It's also really easy to get started because it doesn't require courses and safety certificates like rope climbing.

  • Bouldering is for everyone!

It's a misconception that you need to be strong or agile to try bouldering.

It's not true! Everyone can climb.

Weight, height, age or physical disability shouldn't hold you back.

We all have different strengths and weaknesses, and bouldering is very much about figuring out how to utilize your strengths on the wall.

For example, it's not always an advantage to have big muscles when it comes to balance, and it's not always an advantage to be tall when you need to shift your center of gravity.

We recommend anyone curious about bouldering to give it a try!

  • We are open every day of the week from morning to evening, 361 days a year. Opening hours vary in our gyms. Find an overview of gyms and the opening hours here.

  • No, you don't need to book an appointment! You come when it suits you and stay as long as you want!

Only groups of more than 10 people need to make an appointment in advance. Larger groups without an appointment risk being turned away on arrival.

  • Groups of more than 10 people must make an appointment with the department they want to visit. This is to avoid too many people in the hall at once. If you come as a group unannounced, we reserve the right to turn you away at the door. Find contact information on all gyms here.

  • We usually only have one person in the café. Therefore, there is not always time for us to give you a full introduction to climbing. However, the person in the café will be happy to briefly introduce you to the rules of the hall, the difficulty of the boulder problems and the basic info you need before you can start climbing.

If you want a longer introduction, we recommend the free Crash Course. The Crash Course is a 75-minute introduction with everything you need to know to get started. No registration is required, just show up! Find the Crash Course schedule here.

  • When climbing, it's important that you wear training clothes so you can move freely on the climbing wall. It's also a good idea to bring a warm sweater and a pair of slippers for when you take a break.

In Boulders, all climbing must be done in climbing shoes. You are not allowed to climb in bare feet, socks, regular shoes, indoor shoes or five finger shoes. If you don't have a pair of climbing shoes, you can rent or buy a pair at the reception.Item description

  • In Boulders you can only be on the climbing walls wearing climbing shoes - no indoor shoes, no Five Fingers, no Approach shoes, no sock feet and no bare feet, only climbing shoes. To give everyone a fair treatment, we don't differentiate between types of shoes, but simply provide a simple guideline: climbing shoes for climbing :) Besides, climbing shoes undoubtedly provide the best experience!

You can rent and buy climbing shoes in the hall!
